CASSIDY is a 1 ˝ year old
English Cream Golden Retriever with puppy spunk DOB 1/14/2022. Love
a Golden Rescue has been taking care of her since she was a little
puppy due to medical concerns. CASSIDY was born with
“bladder issues”. Her bladder is more forward than her doggy
friends and she did not have the ability to use her sphincter muscle to
control her urine. After three surgeries, she is now
controlling her urine and her body has learned to hold in until she
goes outside. Her life of diapers has ended for now, and we
are so excited to have her listed as “special needs” available for
adoption.
CASSIDY is very social. She travels well in the car for long
distances. She is very smart and learns commands quickly. She
could play all day with her older dog in foster if he was up-to-it. She
loves bones – all kinds of bones and believes they are all hers. She
will even bury them under the dog bed. She likes to tear
apart toys but will keep the squeakies as a secondary toy. CASSIDY
loves to look for wildlife in the backyard, learning how to potty and
keep looking-so if you have a backyard near some woods-she will be
especially excited. She would love to have windows where she can look
outside as well. She is treat-motivated, so learning
commands will be easy for her. She loves mealtime and does
best when separated from other dogs as she will eat their food as well
unless her human is standing between them. She likes to pick
up food and water dishes and will need ones that she is not able to
grab.
CASSIDY is an inside hunter and will counter surf, couch surf, trash
surf, closet surf, or table surf to carry items that are not hers. She
likes to show you the treasure she has. This may be boredom from having
to be in a crate during the day while her foster parents work. When
left out of the crate only for even a brief time, CASSIDY will quickly
surf. CASSIDY is affectionate, loves to be near her human. She
is a beautiful and sweet 60-pounds of white fur. She is fine
to have her nails clipped and loves to be brushed.
We credit Cassidy success to a specialist in St Louis and for this
reason, as it is a complicated case, should problems arise her new home
should be within driving distance of St Louis so her treatment for her
bladder condition can be continued with that vet.
