Happy Endings

July 2003 - September 2003

These are some of our adopted Goldens
who have gone on to their new homes!

Quincy Bear
Quincy Bear was an outside dog before coming to rescue.  Now he's enjoying life with his very own family and all the perks of being a family dog.

Lady

Lady is a feisty 12 year old Golden whose prior family could not keep her because they had to move overseas. She quickly won the hearts of her foster family and is now home to stay.

Hope
Hope is a pretty red Golden who found herself at a shelter. She has cataracts in both eyes, but they don't stop her from seeing how much love is in her new home for her.

Blossom

Blossom is a very sweet young Golden/Mix who has found a very special home. She came to rescue because she was having seizures. The seizures are currently controlled by medication. She captures the hearts of all who meet her and has found a family who love her despite her seizure history.

Madison aka Maddy

Madison (aka Maddy) was fostered by a single soldier at Fort Leonard Wood and after 3 months he couldn’t let her go. Maddy had found her forever home. With the help of Love-a-Golden, Maddy was able to support her soldier through 2 overseas deployments. Since transferring from Missouri, Maddy has been all over the country serving the Army in keeping up her soldier’s morale! In return she’s enjoying lots of love and attention.   Since transferring from Missouri, Maddy and her soldier have lived in Texas, and now in Rhode Island. The weather is much cooler there and she’s enjoying it. There are several National Parks here in New England and Maddy is enjoying the hiking trails. One of the pictures above is of her at Acadia National Park in Maine. She did great even during a retreat to the car in the face of Hurricane Noel!

Splash

Splash (who is now named Flash) is already setting into his new home. He is making lots of friends in the neighborhood during his walks and will be starting obedience class soon.

Lily
Lily's new mom writes:
"Lily (formerly Bonnie) is now 28 pounds and is growing every day.  She is smart and energetic.  She has started puppy classes and her favorite part is playing with the other puppies.   I am sure she sometimes misses her littermates and foster family.  She has learned to sit, stand and down for treats.  And what I love most - she still crawls into my lap about 10 PM at night and falls to sleep before going in her crate."
-  Cathy

Jeff

Jeff's new mom and dad write:
"My husband Dave and I recently were lucky enough to have adopted Jeff (AKA Jake - his new name) and we couldn't be happier with him.  He is not only beautiful; he is so smart and each day shows us how much love he has to give back.  He and our other dog Sadie are growing fonder of each other each day and he gets along well with our cats as well.  Thank you again from saving him from the shelter and we will have him forever!"
-   Dawn and Daren

Chloe

Chloe was one of Aberdeen's (See Aberdeen below) puppies. Her new owners write:

"I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that things couldn't be going better. Chloe has adapted wonderfully. Even Tweaky and Kitty have accepted her; for the most part
: )  She is very ... what's the word... WILD! The doctor always asks her if she has a motor up her rear. She was so excited last visit she bent the needle before they could get it in. The other picture is us in our little pool. She has her own little blue pool and we have our little blow up pool. Well Saturday she took off and took a running leap into the "big pool" we though for sure it would be popped, but is managed to stay in tact. She loves the water. We are going to have to take her were she can really learn to swim and enjoy the water.  We have decided that she looks more like a yellow lab than a Golden for now, but maybe she'll grow into it. We love her what ever she looks like though."

Buddy

Buddy is a cute Golden mix who has found a home where he gets lots of love and attention.

Cedar
Cedar was an unclaimed stray at a shelter whose prospects didn't look very bright, but now he has a great home where he enjoys the good life and gets to have fun adventures like go camping.

Abbala

Abbala is a sweet girl who has found a great home where she gets lots of love and attention.

Aberdeen
Aberdeen spent most of her life in a kennel before coming to rescue. She had a litter of pups a few days after being rescued when she was only about 18 months old. She was a great mom who took very good care of her 10 pups. Unfortunately she was also heartworm positive. After completing heartworm treatment with its month long crate rest, she found a wonderful home where she has a doggie buddy and all the love she needs.

Miles
Miles has come a long way from the shelter where he was afraid to be on leash to a special home where he gets lots of snuggling.

Sassy
Sassy Girl (aka Sassy Lady or Sassy) is enjoying life in her new home. Her new family writes that it feels like she has been there forever and that "she is the perfect dog...we can't imagine why her original people didn't want her anymore!!" Sassy has been keeping busy going for fun car rides and attending baseball games and even has the whole ballpark scene mastered already.

Jack

Jack is a striking looking dark red boy with beautiful amber eyes. He is now showing his new family how happy he is by wagging his whole back end when he wags his tail. He's already started obedience class and is doing very well.
