Want to foster, but just can’t? Try Foster Buddies!
Many people want to foster, but can’t because of time, space or other circumstances. If this is you, please consider the Foster Buddy program!

As a Foster Buddy, you can lend a hand to a specific dog in need. We provide veterinary care for our foster dogs including making sure that they are spayed or neutered, current on their shots, microchipped, checked for heartworm, provided with monthly heartworm preventative, and given any other necessary veterinary care while in our care. Some of our goldens have serious or unusual medical conditions and require extensive treatment. Meet Hattie, for example. She is one of our current rescues with huge medical bills. You can click on her pic to view more about her on her own page.
When a rescue finally finds a forever home, Love a Golden’s requested adoption donation does not cover the cost of those treatments, and this is where Foster Buddies come in. They help defray the cost of those critical treatments. Also, in some cases, we incur expenses for shelter fees or must reimburse another rescue group for their expenses in helping the dog find its way to Love a Golden Rescue.
To become a Foster Buddy, you choose your own Foster Buddy dog from those listed on our Available Goldens page. After picking your Foster Buddy, make a tax deductible donation by mail or online. YOU decide how much and how often to give. No gift is TOO small. You will then get periodic updates on YOUR Foster Buddy as he or she goes through the process of finding a forever home.
